Man shot at, Rs 16Llooted at Barauni
Begusarai: Unidentified motorcycle-borne criminals shot at a private security agency employee and looted over Rs 16 lakh cash from him while he was going to deposit it a bank on Monday. The incident occurred near Mirchiyachowk in Barauni under Phulwaria police station area of the district.
The cash belonged to the local branch of LIC, situated on Rajendra Road, Barauni, and was meant to be deposited in the ICICI Bank situated on the other side of the street.

Police sources said as Arvind Mishra, the victim, carrying cash in a bag came out of the LIC premises to cross the road and reach the bank, three criminals riding a motorcycle pounced on him to snatch the bag.
“The criminals first failed in their bid as Arvind held the bag firmly. He even tried to raise an alarm and resist the criminals. Seeing Arvind not relenting, one of the criminals fired at him and took away the bag after he fell on the ground,” said police.
Sources said Arvind was later admitted to a private hospital here in a serious condition. “The doctors attending him said he has sustained bullet injuries in chest and on his shoulder,” said a source.
Teghra SDPO Harishchandra Prasad, who rushed to the spot after coming to know about the incident, said police were trying to identify the criminals behind the incident. “They would be arrested soon as raids are going on at possible hideouts,” said the SDPO.
