Leblon Cachaça Kicks Off International Road Trip to Rio

New York, NY – May 12, 2016  Today, LEBLON, the award-wining handcrafted alambique Cachaça from Brazil, kicks off its epic three-month international Road Trip to Rio tour across the United States, Europe and Brazil in the LEBLON CaipiMoblie to raise money for the Developing Minds Foundation and share some LEBLON love along the way. Making stops in more than 70 cities throughout the three continents, LEBLON’s mission is to raise $50,000 on behalf of the Developing Minds Foundation, which supports education in two of Rio’s largest favelas, Rocinha and City of God.

From May to August 2016, LEBLON is sponsoring Developing Minds Foundation fundraising events across the U.S., Europe and Brazil where a portion of proceeds from signature LEBLON cocktails, as well as sales of Road Trip to Rio memorabilia, will go towards the charity. The first stop on the U.S. tour is in New York City on May 12th, followed by the European kick off in Edinburgh, Scotland on May 13th. The Brazil tour will be kicking off a bit later in June.

Founded in 2006, the Developing Minds Foundation builds schools and supports education programs in areas affected by violence and poverty. In Brazil’s two largest favelas, Rocinha and City of God, they have dedicated their efforts building and supporting technology schools where they teach children how to use computers, repair hardware, edit video and code for software as a means to develop skills to integrate into the job market.
