Three held for robbing couples at Sabarmati River Front

Ahmedabad: Meghaninagar police on Saturday arrested three persons Pavan Chandani, resident of Sughad Gandhinagar, Bharat Bhadoria and Harshit Jain both residents of Meghaninagar for their alleged involvement in more than ten incidents of robbery mostly in eastern parts of the city.
The trio was also allegedly involved in robbing of couples sitting at isolated spots at river front.
"The couples did not complaint to the police as they feared that their identity would be revealed. The trio has robbed more than 20 couples at the River Front" added a Meghaninagar police official.
Meghaninagar police sources said the accused are nabbed for the first time. The trio used to rob people to spend on luxury.
"We have recovered a stolen bike and six cell phones as of now from the accused" said a senior police official of Meghaninagar.
Police sources said the gang of three had robbed passersby in Naroda, Meghaninagar,Odhav, Chiloda , Madhavpura.
The trio most of the time used to rob cell phones and sell them of at low prices. "Sometimes they also used to steal bikes and abandoned them at isolated spots" added a crime branch official.
Meghaninagar police sources said they suspect the trio to be involved in such robberies in other areas.
"We have contacted other police stations to get details of any complaint registered in their jurisdiction of the same nature" said a police source.
