A 30-year-old man died after slipping into a ditch formed by Narmada pipeline leakage in Rau on Sunday.

Indore: A 30-year-old man died after slipping into a ditch formed by Narmada pipeline leakage in Rau on Sunday.
The incident took place when the man, identified as Radheshyam Makwana, was returning home which is behind the Jain Temple on Narmada Road. He was accompanied by his friend Kailash.
"Radheshyam suddenly slipped into the pit which was filled with water and drowned.
I shouted for help he could not be saved as he got drowned," Kailash told Rau police. When he did not surface, the locals called up the police control room. Radheshyam's body was fished out of the ditch and taken to the district hospital where he was declared brought dead.
"The pit was at least 30 feet deep and got filled with water after a Narmada pipeline had burst in the area. The man died after he slipped in the ditch and drowned. An accidental death case has been registered and further investigations in the case are on," Rau police station in-charge said .
