New bus shelter at KSRTC terminal
Thiruvananthapuram: The passengers awaiting KSRTC buses near the old Indian Coffee House building will soon get a roof over their heads. The work on the bus shelter, constructed by the Kerala Transport Development Finance Corporation (KTDFC) began about a week ago. It is estimated to cost around Rs 2.50 lakh on completion.
KTDFC had earlier constructed a bus shelter for the first bus bay near to the way-in of the terminal at Rs 2.45 lakh on the request of KSRTC, when the short-distance buses were shifted inside the terminal in January.
The new shelter under construction is for the second and third bays near the way in to the terminal.
The passengers awaiting buses to Neyyantinkara, Kanjiranmkulam-Poovar and Pallichal- Vizhinjam routes will be benefited once the work is completed. Proper display boards will be installed after the completion of the construction work.
"The construction work of the shelter was started considering the upcoming monsoon and will be completed soon," said P N Ramachandran, project manager at KTDFC.
