Aakash’s father Satish Khatwani, who runs a coaching centre, said he took three-year-old Aakash to Agra Public School for admission and asked that he be admitted to Class 1. Aakash cleared the test and was admitted to Class 1 in 2007.

“When Aakash was in Class 6, he was less interested in his own textbooks and more inclined towards studying books of Class 10 in his father’s coaching. Seeing this talent, Aakash was admitted to Class 10 in a nearby school,” Aakash’s mother Kamni Khatwani said.

Aakash seems to be carrying the family tradition as his two elder sisters too attained similar feats. One of his 15-year-old sisters is pursuing an MBA from Hindustan College in the city and another sister, who is 14 years old, is pursuing a diploma in architecture.

The family is regular at Sunday ‘satsangs’ or religious gatherings and gives credit to a simple lifestyle for their children’s achievements.

Fond of playing cricket, Aakash has never eaten junk food and loves home food. He does not even complain about a lack of cable television at home.
