Mysuru: Efforts by a residents' welfare association have paid off with KSRTC officials agreeing to operate buses to Bengaluru directly from RS Naidu Nagar bus station from Monday.
Nagarikara Hitarakshana Seva Sangha had demanded that KSRTC authorities and elected representatives ply buses directly from the bus station as this will obviate the need for thousands of commuters to reach KSRTC suburban bus stand in the central business district.

Accordingly, KSRTC will launch the services from RS Naidu bus station on Monday, Sangha chief H M Ankaiah told reporters on Saturday. Former minister and Narasimharaja MLA Tanveer Sait will do the honours.
The buses will start at 6am and 2pm from the bus station and stop at Mysuru Road satellite bus station in Bengaluru. The services of two buses will be introduced from Mysuru Road satellite bus station at 9am and 6pm, which will reach KSRTC suburban station via RS Naidu Nagar bus station.
Ankaiah said that KSRTC is operating additional buses from the area to KSRTC suburban bus stand following a request by locals.
