Son held at knifepoint, woman robbed of gold

Pune: In a brazen attack on Saturday afternoon, a man on a two-wheeler followed homemaker Sangeeta Palesha and her four-year-old son to the parking lot of Vardhamanpura Society in Market Yard, held a knife to the boy's throat and robbed the jewellery Palesha had on her.
The scooter-borne man, thought to be in his 40s, took away gold jewellery worth Rs 1.50 lakh.Palesha has lodged a complaint with Market Yard police station.
The society watchman did ask the man where he was going and the suspect said he was accompanying `madam'. Police said there was no one in the basement parking when the robbery took place.
