Two dead, 10 injured as Bus hits tree near Shyamlaji

Two persons were killed and 10 others got injured when a luxury bus coming from Bhilwada in Rajasthan rammed into a tree on National Highway 8 near Shamalpur village, 3km from Shyamlaji in Aravalli district, on Saturday.

Palanpur: Two persons were killed and 10 others got injured when a luxury bus coming from Bhilwada in Rajasthan rammed into a tree on National Highway 8 near Shamalpur village, 3km from Shyamlaji in Aravalli district, on Saturday.
The deceased identified as Avinash Jain (25) and Raghubir Chauhan (32) from Chhitorgarh, died on the spot because of the impact of the collision.
They had boarded the bus from Udaipur in Rajasthan.
Sub-inspector Y J Rathod, said that the injured were rushed to government hospital in Shyamlaji. Three persons whose condition was critical were later referred to the civil hospital in Himatnagar.
According to Rathod, the bus driver lost control after falling asleep on the wheels. The vehicle skid off the road and hit the tree killing two persons. The victims were on their way to Ahmedabad. Police said that the bus driver, who is absconding, was booked for rash driving.
