Two held for cheating people with fake money

Mansa: Mansa police claims to have busted a gang defrauding people and spreading counterfeit currency notes. The gang members used to cheat people with promise of doubling their money and handover their victims fake notes. Police arrested two persons and recovered 100 counterfeit notes each of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 denominations.
Police also recovered a .12 bore pistol and car from Buta Singh of Pandher village and Sehajpreret Singh of Lakhowal village in Ludhiana.Their accomplice Harinder Singh of Kheeva Khurd village succeeded in escaping.
Mansa SSP Mukhwinder Singh said, "Acting on tip-off, police had put up a barricade on Friday night on the road connecting Gurthari to Matti. The team stopped an Innova car and recovered a .12 bore pistol with three cartridges, two packets of fake notes."
