AHMEDABAD: An elderly man died in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) run Vadilal Sarabhai hospital in Paldi area due to lack of treatment, alleged relatives of the deceased.
The deceased identified as Panachand Soni, aged around 80, was admitted to VS hospital as he was suffering with cough and constant vomiting, but doctors did not conduct any primary medical test, Kashmira Soni, daughter in law of the deceased person, said.

“My father-in-law was suffering from constant coughing and vomiting when I brought him to the VS hospital five days ago. However, he was suffering from paralysis, but he was not that critical when we brought him here,” she said.
She alleged that doctors and hospital staff did not treat her grandfather well for around five days, but when his condition deteriorated on Saturday morning, they adviced to keep him on life support system.
However, the hospital authority refuted the allegation and said that the patient was bed-ridden due to paralysis for around two years and putting an endoscopic pipe inside his throat may have proved fatal. Therefore, they first asked for consent of the relative, but as the kins denied it, they could not treat the patient which led to the casualty, said Sandip Malhan, Superintendent of V S hospital.
