SAD wants SGPC panel to stay on till '21: Phoolka
Jalandhar: With SGPC moving the Supreme Court seeking early hearing on its plea on 2011 elections of the body, AAP leader H S Phoolka has said that Badals have started their manipulations to ensure that the committee elected in 2011 continued till 2021.
"After the amendment, SGPC has filed application in the Supreme Court for early hearing of the case.
This application was mentioned by their lawyer in Supreme Court on May 11, and got listed for May 12. However, the matter could not be heard on May 12," Phoolka said.
The lawyers of SGPC and the government tried to get the case heard on May 13, but the Supreme Court listed the case for hearing in July, he said. "From the sequence of events it is clear that they are in great hurry to get the matter decided in the SC so that in case of elections have to be held then they can conduct these during their regime," he added.
In a statement issued on Friday, Phoolka also appealed to all Sikh organizations. who want to free SGPC and Akal Takht from the clutches of Badals, to come together to defeat their nefarious designs.
