JAMMU, May 13: Promo-ting a noble cause to help the disabled, State president BJP and MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) handed over TVS Wego Scooty to a disabled girl namely Monika Nargotra, resident of Rehari Chungi area of Ward Number 8.
Accompanied by a large number of people, Sharma handed over the two wheeler in the presence of officials of Social Welfare Department, many locals of the area including social and political activists as well. The scooty costing Rs 60,000 was arranged by the MLA from his CDF (Constituency Development Fund).
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that it is our duty to help these children who are the future of our nation. He said due to mis- happenings in the life of Monika, she lost her ability to walk properly and keeping other things in mind as well it was decided that a two wheeler will be given to the girl so that she can travel anywhere freely without the help of others.
He also appreciated the efforts of Social Welfare department as well and stated that there are certain schemes of Department as well under which disabled persons are provided with relief and it will be seen in the coming days that such persons will be located in the constituency and every possible help will be provided to them through various schemes.
The residents of the area also hailed the initiative of the MLA by helping the needy in every noble cause.
District Social Welfare Officer Kulraj Singh, district president BJP Ayodhya Gupta, State vice president BJYM Karan Sat Sharma, Sanjeev Sharma, Jeet Angral, Prem Gupta, Sat Pal Karlupia, Asha Kumari,Ajay Vaid, Lovekesh Gondi, Smriti Devi, Pardeep Singh, Munish Raja, Ramesh Kaku, Ashish Sharma, Raveesh Mengi and several others were also present.
