The real experience

Director P C Shekar had his task cut out from the moment he began working on his latest release, ‘Style King.’ Perhaps the largest cast and crew that he has worked with thus far, Shekar wrote the script with not just the lead pair Ganesh and Remya in mind, but also a host of other actors including veterans like Rangayana Raghu, Sadu Kokila, Padmaja Rao and Sunder Raj.

Shekhar has ensured that every one in the project has a definite and prominent role to play. They haven’t been chosen just to fill the frame. Shekar points out that every actor is unique and has played an important part in contributing to making the film one of a kind. Shekar holds much appreciation for every  single person in the project.

About Rangayana and Sadu, Shekar says, “Both of them are senior actors with comedy being their forte.

But there’s a slight difference, Rangayana is known for his excellent dialogue delivery and Sadu is popular for his hilarious body language. He conveys exactly what his required through his body language.”

The director says that he wrote the script in such a way that it would suit the real character of the person. “I saw that actor Padmaja Rao still has a child somewhere in her. She was very calm and cool about everything. Even during a serious discussion, she would come up with the smallest of things. I really liked her innocence, so her character has been tweaked to suit her real nature,” says Shekar.

Sunder Raj plays the father of Remya in the movie. Why the role of a father? “The father of every girl tends to look funny to a boy. Sunder Raj has a unique style and he also has a daughter. So, I was sure that he would understand the emotions involved and play it to perfection. He had to be himself on screen, with no extra effort required.”

The role of actor Mitra is to create some kind  of chaos in the movie. “His looks are deceptive but he is an innocent guy. His role is short but he manages to leave behind quite an impression,” he adds. Girish plays Ganesh’s friend in the film. “There’s a small message about friendship through Girish’s character,” adds Shekar.

Actors Amith and Chandru have the gift of the gab. They never get tired of talking,
says Shekar. “Amith hosts a popular radio show and has the knack of keeping his listeners engaged in the most silliest of conversations. Chandru, who plays a corrupt cop in the film maintains a certain speed in dialogue delivery that no other actor can really match up to.”

Shekar says he took his time to work on the script of ‘Style King’ because he wanted to add a lot of meaning and value not only to the script but also to the actors involved.
