New tapas concept opens in Manchester city centre

A new tapas restaurant, Tapeo has opened in Deansgate, Manchester city centre.

Spread over two floors, Tapeo is a 120-cover restaurant with a menu that changes to reflect seasonal produce and includes tapas plates and regional inspired dishes.

Diners can enjoy small dishes of hand-carved ibérico ham, albondigas (meatballs), fried hake with garlic & parsley sauce, and lobster & prawn croquettes.

Larger plates include Arroz meloso de bogavante - a risotto-like rice dish with lobster from Valencia; Fidueá negra - a squid ink pasta dish with cuttlefish and prawns; and Paletilla de cordero lechal - slow-roasted Segovian-style lamb shoulder.

The bar stocks a carefully-chosen selection of Spanish wine and cava, all available by the glass or bottle, as well as Estrella Galicia for beer-drinkers

The husband-and-wife owners, Nacho Perez and Natalia Esquerdo have already made a respected name for themselves in the restaurant industry with their Spanish food import and supply business Lola España.
