Exclusive: Reggie Yates Confirms Leicester City Film 'Is Definitely Happening' After Chat With Jamie Vardy

TV presenter Reggie Yates has confirmed a film about Leicester City’s ascent from Premier League strugglers to champions is “definitely happening” after a chat with their main man Jamie Vardy.

Reggie has teamed up with Jamie, Manchester United star Chris Smalling and former Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler to help Vauxhall Motors find someone to perform the perfect celebration for England ahead of Euro 2016.

Yahoo Celeb UK caught up with Reggie to find out what went on during filming, and if Robbie Fowler really is a fan of yodelling.

What was it like hanging out with Jamie Vardy, Robbie Fowler and Chris Smalling?

“My job is brilliant. No two days are ever the same.

Seeing what Jamie Vardy has done this season to be hanging out with them and having a giggle with them is amazing.

They all have ridiculous schedules so I didn’t get to hang out with them afterwards. As a fan of the Premier League to be around those players was amazing.

The night before we filmed Leicester won the League and Jamie came in the next day after having the biggest celebration ever. It was amazing to be around him the night after that.”

Did you ask Vardy about the Leicester film?

“I didn’t believe it was a real thing but he said it’s definitely happening. He didn’t know much about it though. We all know the story but don’t know much else at the moment. Someone has got to play him though.”

What’s the best football celebration you’ve ever done?

“I tend to go mad when a goal goes in. I’ve been known to lose my cool once or twice and act like a compete plonker. The estate I grew up in you could see the Arsenal stadium. I’d go to every game and I loved it. It was one of the best things in the world. It wasn’t about having a celebration, just losing your cool. It was just about acting like an idiot.”

As an Arsenal fan, what do you make of Tottenham having such a great season?

“I’m hoping Spurs really mess it up in the last game. I can’t bear the thought of all them finishing above Arsenal.”

Euro 2016 is nearly upon us - how do you think England will get on?

“We’ve got Wales and Russia so it’s not the toughest group in the world. I’d like to see us do well. As a fan of the England squad you’re used to having a lot of build up before big tournaments.

It’s about how much you want it.

We’ve got to be positive and take the pressure off the England players. I hate the pressure we put on.

When it comes to pressure it’s about not bombarding them with expectations

You can see the nerves in them. Your average football fan doesn’t consider what pressure these players are under.

It’s great to see the top of the League dominated by young English players.

It’s well deserved that the Spurs and Leicester players are in the England squad. They deserve to be there.”

What were the auditions in the search for the official #GetIN celebration for England like?

“We had some amazing auditions. There was a yodeller who came out with a guitar.

I had no idea that Robbie Fowler was a fan of yodelling! I tried to make him yodel.”

What’s your favourite ever football celebration?

“I will never forget that Gazza celebration when he was on the floor at Euro 96 having that water squirted into his mouth after scoring against Scotland. It just made sense.”

What would you like to see England do if they score at Euro 2016?

“There’s a little part of all of us that wants to see Sturridge break out into his dance move celebration during a game.”
