Woman electrocuted

A 49-year-old woman was electrocuted near Kumily in Idukki from the cardamom gardens near her house.
Shantha, who had gone to cut grass on Wednesday evening and did not return home. A search by her husband and neighbours on Thursday morning found her dead in the cardamom gardens. She is assumed to have been electrocuted from a stay wire in the premises.She is survived by her husband and four children.
Seminar at Sahitya Akademi: Sahitya Akademi and N V Krishna Warrier Memorial Trust will organise a one-day seminar on 'N V Krishna Warrior and Indian poetry' on May 13 Friday at Sahitya Akademi Auditorium, Thrissur. EVMs commissioned: Electronic voting machines to be distributed to the constituencies in Kozhikode were commissioned on Thursday. Mock polls were also conducted in the presence of candidates and representatives of political parties. The EVMs were later shifted to strong rooms.
All-party meeting: A meeting of political party representatives in Kozhikode will be held at 2pm on Friday at the chamber of the district collector.
