Two held for using 'totka' to please rain gods

Kanpur: As mercury levels touch 43°C, people in various parts of the state are resorting to 'totka' (superstitious practices) to appease the rain gods.
In one such 'totka', people pour water on their neighbours while they are deep asleep at night and this led to a skirmish in Majra Muzaffarpur Patti in Kuinyadheer village in Farrukhabad district on Wednesday.
As per the complaint, Usman accused his neighbours Mohit and Gyanchandra of attacking him and his family members with 'lathis' when they objected to the superstitious practice.
As a part of ritual, the duo had allegedly poured water on Usman and his family members while they were sleeping , on Wednesday evening.
SHO Shamshabad Kotwali Veerpal Singh, said that a case was registered against two persons for attacking a family when they objected to water being poured on them while they were sleeping.
