Daesh Car Bomb Attack Near Libyan Misrata Kills 4, Injures 8

A Daesh car bomb attack 55 miles outside the Libyan town of Misrata left at least four dead and eight injured on Thursday, local media reported.

Libyan Army Launches Offensive to Liberate Sirte From Daesh
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The attack took place at Sadada checkpoint, on territory controlled by the UN-backed unity government, as reported by Libyan news website Alwassat.

Daesh claimed responsibility for the attack.

Libya has been in a state of civil war since May 2014. The United Nations helped to bring about a cease-fire in late 2015 and on March 31 the UN-backed "Unity Government" took office in Tripoli. As of late April 2016, Daesh has been in control of a long strip of Libya's Mediterranean coastline.
