Raahgirs pay tribute to moms this Sunday
At this Sunday’s edition of Raahgiri Day, supported by The Times of India, tiny tots from Gyanprabha School For Performing Arts paid tribute to 'Bharat mata' on the occasion of Mother's Day. Kids aged between four and eight also did a Kathak recital on Vande Mataram. "I loved their performance. Main sabse aage khadi thi, meri aankhon mein aansu aa gaye inhe dekhke. They were so confident," said Sunita Khurana, a resident of Sarita Vihar.
"They all were so excited to perform here. My daughter joined the dance school two months back and I’m so proud of her today," said Simran, mother of Diva, a seven-year-old who was a part of the dance group.
Naach Dilli, naach
The session on the TOI stage began with an aerobics session by Active and Live Academy followed by a Bollywood workout by A Square Dance Academy. The group made the crowd dance to numbers like Morni (Balle Balle) and Mundiya Tu Bachke Rahi. "Their performance was so energetic. I’m here with my friends and we danced the whole time," said Swati Pandey, a resident of Preet Vihar.
Hip-hop love
The meditation session by members of Heartfulness Institute was a relaxing break from all the activity, and was followed by a hip-hop performance by Sagar Koirala and Rahul, who showed their popping and locking and freestyle moves to Aankh Maare O Ladka Aankh Mare and Chura Ke Dil Mera. Malkeet Shergill and CDS Bhatti then wrapped up the morning as they made the crowd groove to their rap numbers.
