MRI centre set up at INHS Sanjivani

A state-of-the-art MRI Centre has been inaugurated by Vice-Admiral Girish Luthra, AVSM, VSM, flag officer commanding-in-chief, Southern Naval Command, at Naval Hospital INHS Sanjivani, Kochi.

KOCHI: A state-of-the-art MRI Centre has been inaugurated by Vice-Admiral Girish Luthra, AVSM, VSM, flag officer commanding-in-chief, Southern Naval Command, at Naval Hospital INHS Sanjivani, Kochi.
Naval authorities said that the newly installed 1.5 Tesla Philips Achieva MRI is a wide bore design imaging system with latest imaging facilities available, like functional MRI, perfusion, susceptibility weighted imaging and tractography.
It offers good resolution, with maximum patient comfort and lesser scan time.
The newly commissioned MRI Centre at Sanjivani will go a long way in improving facilities at the hospital to provide quality medical care to serving and retired defence personnel and their families at Kochi and neighbouring districts of Kerala.
INHS Sanjivani is a premier hospital of the Indian Navy, established in the year 1958. Over the years, the hospital has evolved as a modern multi-specialty hospital and at present is the biggest defence service hospital in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
