Entertainment » OtherPosted at: May 11 2016 6:02PM Tension over defacing Basavanna statueKalaburagi, May 11 (UNI) Tension prevailed for some time at Allagi (B) village in Afzalpur taluk of the district today as some miscreants allegedly damaged a statue of the 12th century social reformer Basavanna. Police said that some miscreants vandalised the statue of Basavanna situated at the heart of the village. Tension prevailed in the village since morning police said. Deputy Commissioner Vipul Bansal visited the spot and assured the villagers that action will be initiated against the culprits and a new statue of Basaveshwara will be built at the same place.
