HC orders ACA poll on June 12
Guwahati: The Gauhati high court on Tuesday ordered the authorities concerned to hold the annual general meeting (AGM) and the election of Assam Cricket Association (ACA) on June 12. Both were due in December last year but were put on hold because of an ongoing hearing in the court on an PIL, filed by Sahajananda Ojha alleging financial irregularities by the association for the past six months.
The ACA filed an interlocutory application to the PIL seeking the court's directive to hold the AGM and the election. The association's counsel advocate Debojit Saikia said a special division bench has passed an order allowing holding of the meeting and election at Barsapara cricket stadium.
