His nephew, Mohamad Abul Hamid Elmir, is facing his own charge over the shooting.

Mohamad Abul Hamid Elmir drove Mr Charbaji, 32, who was his brother in law, to Bankstown Hospital after the shooting.

Mr Elmir and his friend, Adam Aboud, who was also in the car, were charged with concealing a serious offence.

Police allege they did not tell the whole truth as to how Mr Charbaji was injured.

Abdullah El Masri, 35, believed to be a member of one of the warring factions, was shot in the jaw but survived.

The investigation into the shooting has been complex and lengthy, with multiple firearms, suspects and criminal identities involved.

Fairfax Media has been told a $100,000 debt dispute was the catalyst for the fatal shooting although other theories are also being explored.

Detectives are looking closely at whether the Condell Park shooting was the motive behind the execution of crime figure Walid "Wally" Ahmad in Bankstown on April 29.

The 40-year-old father-of-six was sitting at a cafe at a shopping centre when he was peppered with bullets.

Ahmad had been wanted for questioning over the Condell Park shooting.

It is well known within industry and criminal circles that he had strong ties to the A Team Body Works.

However, given the number of people Ahmad had stood over, extorted or generally put offside as an influential underworld figure in the city's south-west, police are looking at a number of possible motives.

Ahmad was farewelled last week at a funeral in Lakemba that was attended by some infamous identities, including the Ibrahims.

It is understood police are also keen to talk to another man, a figure from Sydney's Middle Eastern crime circles, who fled overseas after the shooting.

He is related to Ahmad.
