Ankush Jain wins 'Landmarks of Ludhiana' contest

Ludhiana: Following the photography competition which was announced by municipal corporation authorities, MC on Tuesday distributed prizes to winners of the competition. Theme of the competition was "Landmarks of Ludhiana". The competition began in March and contestants were given selected categories including buildings, landscapes, aerial, night and open areas.
The first prize was won by Ankush Jain and he also won consolation prize in the night category; the second position was scored by Aditya Goyal who also managed consolation prize in the night category.The third position was won by Ravinder Singh and he also got a consolation prize in the landscape category. Meanwhile, the consolation prizes were won by Ganga Singh, Richa Ahuja, Aakriti Mangar, Rajwinder Singh, Damandeep Singh, Rajat Pandhi, Vineet Pal Singh Monga and Sanya Pramod.
MC gave away cash prizes worth Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 to first, second and third winners, respectively, while Rs 1,000 consolation prize was given to 15 participants. A total of 270 photographs were received through 19 participants. Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria and municipal commmissioner GHanshyam Thori who gave away the prized also interacted with winners of the competition. Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria said that such competitions should be held in future as well.
Meanwhile, MC commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that they received good response from the city residents, and it was difficult to select the winners. MC announced that an exhibition will also be organized wherein photographs of winners will be put on display.
