QUETTA: Unknown men kidnapped a doctor from his Jinnah Town residence, late Monday night.

Dr Irshad Khosa is a diabetes specialist at the Bolan Medical Complex.

Police has not been able to ascertain, if the doctor was kidnapped for ransom or on the basis of personal enmity.

Kidnapping of doctors in the restive province is on the rise. In September 2013 three doctors were released by the Taliban.

The Pakistan Medical Association has repeatedly warned authorities of the threats doctors face and appealed strict action.
