Central jail may be relocated to Jamwa Ramgarh

Jaipur: Jaipur Development Authority suggested Jamwa Ramgarh area, some 20 kms from Jaipur on Delhi road, where the central jail can be relocated. During the meeting with chief minister Vasundhara Raje, who called officials from home, urban development and district administration, shifting of prisons in other districts was also discussed. According to sources, huge land in Jamwa Ramgarh was proposed to shift jail to, which at present is at Ghat Gate.There has been broad consensus on new site but the final decision will be taken after complete survey by concerned authorities.
Similarly, in Udaipur, 86 bighas of land in the outskirts was also proposed for the purpose. During the collector-SP conference, matter of shifting prisons was raised on which CM directed to finalize it at the earliest. Few other districts will also see relocation of jail from the main areas of the city.
