Gangrape accused denied bail
Ahmedabad: A special court on Monday denied bail to Sozabkhan Pathan, 25, one of the accused in the Maninagar gangrape case, after the prosecution informed about positive results of his DNA test.
The prosecution also revealed that the DNA sample of main accused, Zafar alias Sohil Sheikh, 22, has also matched with the samples obtained from the crime spot and during investigation of the gangrape that occurred in July last year.

The special Protection of Children From Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) court rejected Pathan's argument of parity on the ground that the main accused have been released on bail.
Six youths from Shah-e-Alam and Behrampura were arrested for abducting, illegally detaining and raping a 17-year-old dalit girl from Maninagar area. They have been booked under Section 363, 366, 376 (1), 376 D and 114 of the IPC apart from various sections of POCSO Act and atrocity laws. The owner of Hotel Silver Spring at Shah-e-Alam toll naka, Vijay Soni and its two managers - Bharat Panchal and Ramesh Panchal - were also arrested. tnn
