Bhaiyyu Maharaj yet to lodge a complaint
Indore: Bhaiyyu Maharaj, who was returning from Pune after meeting his daughter, was first attacked at Rajangaon after Shikarpur, while returning to Indore at around 11.30pm. "A Hyundai car first overtook my Audi as we crossed Wagholi. When we crossed Shikarpur and were at Rajangaon, the Hyundai car driver suddenly applied breaks. As we slowed down, a speeding truck hit the car from the rear," Maharaj told TOI.

He was travelling with five companions, who got down to check the damage caused to the vehicle. "Nearly a dozen armed men, armed with sticks and sharp-edged weapons approached us and started beating the youngsters travelling in my car," the spiritual guru said, adding that as he alighted the attackers recognised him and started hurling abuses. They somehow escaped from the spot and moved on to Indore. When the car reached a ghat section near Manmad, they saw over 15 armed men blocking their vehicle. "We somehow found a way to escape from their clutches," he said. On why he did not approach the police, Bhaiyyu Maharaj claimed that it was night and that he feared for the safety of his companions. "We have informed the Maharashtra home minister. We will lodge a complaint with the Vijay Nagar police station here," he said.
However, Vijay Nagar police station in-charge Prashant Yadav claimed that he has not received any complaint from Bhaiyyu Maharaj till late Monday night.
Announcing to lead ascetic life, spiritual leader claims to be now working for the farmers.
