Indore: Hospital authorities identified the injured as Shanti Bai Mehre, Sunita Singh, Kaushalya Bai, Dhapu Bai, Rooplekha, Arjun Singh, Sant Kishandas and Jitendra Sharma. Condition of Kaushalya Bai and Jitendra Sharma was reported to be critical. They were rushed to a hospital in Indore.
Ujjain administration issued an alert from loudspeakers, asking people to reach to safety as pilgrims found themselves trapped in chaotic situation with chock-a-block traffic.
The storm felled several trees in Ujjain. More than 10 vehicles were damaged as a large tree fell them on Barnagar Road. A mobile tower crashed due to rains near Meghdoot dhabha on Indore-Ujjain road triggering long queues of vehicles. Mahant Janardhan Das from Ayodhya, whose camp was worst-hit in the May 5 storm, said, "We are already devastated. What more destruction can today's storm cause in a wrecked area? More tents have crashed in Mangalnath area. A sadhu in my camp had died. We are yet to receive compensation from the government."
