May 10, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:33 am IST - CHENNAI:

A 22-year-old woman, M. Janaki, was found dead in her mother’s house in Neelankarai on Sunday afternoon. Police have arrested three men, including her husband Murali. During investigations, Murali is reported to have told the police that his wife was in a relationship with another person but refused to reveal his identity. She later moved to her mother’s house.

Police sources said Janaki was considering returning home but then wrote a letter seeking separation from Murali and gave him the custody of their two children.

A furious Murali and his friends, Marshall (32) and Parthipan (29), are suspected to have gone to her house on Sunday when her mother was not there and strangled her to death. The men, who were hiding in a canal nearby, were arrested some hours later. – Staff Reporter
