Amir Khan has promised his worried wife and mum he will retire after “three or four more fights”.

Khan’s mum, Falak, cannot bear to watch her son and was upset by his brutal KO at the iron right hand of Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez on Saturday night.

His wife, Faryal, also stays away, and she only flew into Las Vegas on Sunday.

Khan, 29 , was expecting his mum to nag him to quit on the flight back to Manchester and says he only plans to box for a couple more years.

“It’s hard for my family to see me get hurt,” he said. “My mum never watches my fights, but she knows I got hurt. It’s very hard for her and my wife.

"They don’t like watching my fights. It’s too much for them.

“I’ve got to fly home with my mum and I know she’s going to do my head in all the way home about it.

“I think I’ve still got a few fights left in me yet. I don’t want to finish my career on a loss like this. I want to win some more big fights.

“I think I’ve got maybe three or four more fights left.”

Top of Khan’s boxing bucket-list is a rematch with WBC welterweight champion Danny Garcia, and he is the American’s mandatory challenger.

But he ruled out a Battle of Britain against bitter rival and IBF welterweight champ Kell Brook — who called him out after his weekend loss to Alvarez — claiming he is not a big enough name.

“I don’t think that fight will happen,” said the two-time light-welterweight champ Khan. “[Promoter] Eddie Hearn can keep saying he [Brook] is massive, he’s a big name and all that.
