Eight arrested with morphine in Navsari
SURAT: Local crime branch (LCB) of Navsari police arrested eight persons with 812 gram morphine worth Rs 8.12 lakh from Kagvai village of Navsari on Monday. The accused were selling the drug and are part of a larger distribution network. Police are yet to arrest two other person part of the network.<br /><br />Police arrested Aadam Faruq Mayta, resident of Vesma, Yunush Hasan Saleji, Kalakachha village, Sajid Gulam Haider Malek, Charpul area of Navsari and from Amdavadi Darwaja in Nadiad, Anjal Hanif Shaikh, Panera village in Valsad, Mohammad Gulamhussain Malek, Bhagdawad village in Valsad, Chetan Bhikhu Patel, Vandarvela village of Vansada in Navsari, Rajesh Bhagu Patel, of Vandarvela village, and Mubarakali Riyazuddin Quadri, from Kangwai village in Chikhli of Navsari.
Sajid Malek is clerk in Umargam court of Valsad. Other accused are farmers and labourers.<br /><br />They were booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act and further investigation has been handed over to Chikhli police station.<br /> <o:p> </o:p><br />The accused have gathered on first floor of Mubarakali Quadri’s residence to discuss distribution of the prohibited narcotic drug when police nabbed them. Police raided at the residence following information on Sunday night and the accused were arrested after spot verification of the material recovered.<br /><br />Police are yet to arrest Rakesh alias Vijay of Mandvi in Surat and Kishore of Pardi in Valsad. Rakesh had sourced the material and gave it to the arrested accused while Kishore helped the accused to find out customers.<br />
