Dubai: A line-up of the best women’s squash players in the world will arrive in Dubai in just a few weeks to contest the lucrative season-ending PSA Dubai World Series Finals, to be held from May 24-28 in Burj Park, Downtown Dubai.

Heading the line-up is the sensational Nour El Sherbini who will arrive in Dubai as the newly-crowned world champion after a stunning victory over the then world number one and top seed Laura Massaro at the Naza PSA Women’s world Championship in Malaysia last month. At just 20 years old, El Sherbini’s win sees her become the youngest ever and the first Egyptian female to become world champion.

Only one month after she became the first female Egyptian to win the prestigious Allam British Open, El Sherbini was in unstoppable form in Malaysia, defeating home hero and eight-time World Champion Nicol David in the last eight before beating British Open finalist Nouran Gohar to set up a final clash with defending champion Massaro.

After falling two games behind, it looked as if El Sherbini would have to settle for a second runner-up finish, but she came storming back to take the next three games and become the new world champion, overtaking Susan Devoy as the youngest world champion.
