Sr citizen duped, TBZ owner booked
Dhanraj Khaparde, 60, a retired government employee, has been allegedly duped of Rs 46.28 lakh by the management of Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri (TBZ) on the pretext of offering him lucrative returns on gold deposit. TBZ owner Hemant Zaveri was among the three booked on Sunday at Sadar police station. Police said Khaparde had deposited 1,653 gms of gold in a scheme with TBZ in September last year.
Khaparde received Rs 51,000 as interest for the first four months. When he demanded the gold back, TBZ allegedly started dilly-dallying which led to the police complaint.

A 40-year-old man Jagdish Kakde was arrested by Sonegaon police on Sunday after he slit his friend Bablu Girde’s throat after a drunken brawl near Sonegaon lake. It’s learnt that a
scuffle broke between Kakde and Girde over sharing money to purchase more liquor. tnn
