KARACHI: Municipal Corporation (DMC) Korangi Administrator Nisar Soomro has said that the steps are being taken to ensure timely financial assistance to the families of employees who died during service. The DMC administrator said that the directives have been issued to the DMC Korangi’s Finance Department in this regard. Soomro said the DMC would make all possible efforts for welfare of the employees and their families. Soomro issued these directives during a meeting with Municipal Commissioner Korangi Amir Bux Junejo at his office. He presented an aid cheque to Landhi zones Law Department’s late employee Abdul Majeed’s wife as financial assistance. The DMC Finance department officers were also present in the meeting. Soomro said that the DMC is trying its best to serve its employees and is also resolving their problems. He instructed Finance Department officers to provide financial support to the parents of those employees who died during their job period. Amir Bux said that the DMC Korangi is ensuring the payment of employees’ pension on priority basis. He also said that the DMC employees’ medical issues would be solved soon. He said timely payment of pensions and funds of employees at the time of retirement would be ensured. Meanwhile, the District Municipal Corporation (DMC) West Administrator Ashfaq Ahmed Mallah has directed the officials concerned to utilise all available resources for cleaning of nullahs and removal of encroachments from the limits of West area. He said this while reviewing cleaning of nullah in the Site Zone, said a statement on Friday. The administrator also directed to perform cleaning of nullahs in Kemari, Baldia, Site Zone with the help of light and heavy machinery day and night. He also directed to make arrangements for disposal of waste and removal of encroachments from nullahs.
