Uma Bharti to launch Clean Ganga projects

The minister for water resources, river development and Ganga rejuvination plans to develop the 83km stretch of the Ganga in Jharkhand under the mission named Namami Gange. Bharti will be accompanied by chief minister Raghubar Das, local MLA Anant Ojha and other BJP leaders and a team of experts to finalize modalities of cleaning Ganga in the region.

Sahebganj: Union minister Uma Bharti will launch nine projects here on Monday under the national Clean Ganga mission.
The minister for water resources, river development and Ganga rejuvination plans to develop the 83km stretch of the Ganga in Jharkhand under the mission named Namami Gange. Bharti will be accompanied by chief minister Raghubar Das, local MLA Anant Ojha and other BJP leaders and a team of experts to finalize modalities of cleaning Ganga in the region.
Sahebganj DC Umesh Prasad Singh said the district administration has completed the groundwork necessary for Namami Gange.

"Almost 90% of the villages already have biodigestor toilets and work on remaining 10% will be comoplete soon," he said, adding that by June 2016 all the 78 villages of six blocks lying on banks of ganga would be declared open defection free (ODF) villages.
The central minister, who has held several rounds of meetings earlier to develop the stretch of the Ganga in Jharkhand is going to lay the foundation for Sahebganj Ganga ghat development project, Rajmahal ganga ghat development project, foundation for construction of ghat at Jogichak, Kanhay and ganga prasad west in Choti kodarganna .
She will also lay the foundation for a crematorium at Kabutarkhopi and Mangalhat where the option for traditional cremation and electric cremation would be available. Another major project for which people in Sahebganj have been waiting for long is construction of sewerage network in urban Sahebganj along with construction of sewerage treatment plant.
