Mysuru: Mysuru district in-charge secretary and PWD additional chief secretary M R Kamble, deputy commissioner C Shikha, mayor B L Byrappa and Mysuru City Corporation commissioner CG Betsurmath had discussion with representatives of various companies from Canada who visited the Mysuru city to set up waste management plants.
The officers along with representatives inspected the sewage treatment plant set up at Dalvoy lake and places where sewage treatment and biogas plants are planned to be introduced and provided the details.

Ministry of international trade for the provision of British Columbia senior manager Harbans Singh Bains, Pawan Kumar and Sheetal Kumar, Indian Overseas Company's Rick Kocks and Bill, Green Lane Biogas company representative Anthony and others visited the city.
The team also visited JP Nagar and KN Pura centres where cloth bags were being prepared by women. The representatives also purchased a few bags from women in a bid to encourage them. The MCC started a cloth bag-making unit on Srikanteshwara Educational Institute premises at Kyathamaranahalli on Saturday.
After launching the unit, mayor Byrappa said the MCC is encouraging women in preparing cloth and jute bags which can earn them good income.
