Dhumal launches cleanliness drive

HARABAGH (SUNDERNAGAR): Prem Kumar Dhumal, former Chief Minister and BJP leader, said the government, headed by Narender Modi, has sanctioned 25 national highways in the state within two years on which Rs 25,000 crore would be spent.

Prem Kumar Dhumal, former Chief Minister and BJP leader, said the government, headed by Narender Modi, has sanctioned 25 national highways in the state within two years on which Rs 25,000 crore would be spent.

He was addressing an impressive public gathering at Harabagh in Bayla panchayat near here after launching “Swachh Himachal Abhiyan” from Bayla by cleaning a natural water pond (Bawri).

This programme was organised by the Mandi District Cricket Association which was presided over by Ajay Rana, president of the Mandi District Cricket Association and spokesperson of the BJP.

He said the Congress in sixty years had given four national highways to HP. Four national highways were sanctioned by the NDA government, headed by Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.

The Modi government had sanctioned 25 highways in two years.

He appealed to panchayat representatives of Bayla to cover the natural water source by using funds allotted to panchayat.

Ajay Rana, president of the Mandi District Cricket Association, welcome the former Chief Minister and said under this programme, 10 students would be selected from the state and the cleaning activities would be done at the panchayat level and the best team would be honoured by the Prime Minister.

Inder Singh (Sarkaghat) and Vinod Kumar (Nachan) BJP MLAs, former BJP minister Roop Singh Thakur also addressed the gathering. The representatives of Gram Panchayat honoured the former Chief Minister.
