Honest rickshaw driver returns baggage left behind by passenger in Madh Marve
MUMBAI: An auto rickshaw driver returned gadgets worth Rs50,000 that was left behind by a passenger who got down at a resort in Madh-Marve on Sunday. Minutes after leaving the rickshaw, Bhandup resident Amit Nar (40), employed as Material Manager with a media house, realized that has forgotten to take his bag carrying an i-Pad, Samsung Tab, two goggles and a shirt worth Rs50,000.
The rickshaw driver Jairam Kharwal (27) went to the Malwani police station after he approached the Auto rickshaw Taximen Union with the bag.
Nar and his family has booked a night stay at the Madh Marve resort and took rickshaw on Sunday morning to travel to a short distance to catch a taxi. "Nar realized that he has left his baggage behind while waiting to catch the cab which he has booked after checking out from the resort. As the cab does not ply to the resort, he hired the rickshaw to travel few distance to catch the cab," said Malwani police senior inspector Milind Khetle.
Khetle said Nar immediately approached the police and the duty officer sub-inspector Jeevan Nirgude called Anilkumar Vishwakarma of Mumbai Autorikshaw-Taximen Union. "Due to his co-ordination, the honest rickshaw driver returned the lost baggage to Nar."
