Taurean Green’s Coach Nearly Hit Him During A Heated Altercation

You may remember Taurean Green from his time at Florida in the mid-2000s, when he was a starter alongside Al Horford, Joakim Noah, Corey Brewer, and Lee Humphrey on Bill Donovan’s back-to-back national championship teams.

Green had a cup of coffee with Portland and Denver in the NBA but he never stuck, so he has been playing internationally to make a living. Green has played on 11 different teams during his career, but he’s currently a member of AEK BC in Greece. Something tells me he won’t be playing there for much longer, though, as he almost came to blows with his coach during a playoff game on Thursday.

The coach, Jure Zdvoc, appeared to be incensed at something Green did in-game and grabbed the former Gator after taking him out of the game so he could be chewed out.

Green pretty much ignored him, though, and that sent Zdvoc over the edge. At that point, the AEK coach completely lost it, and he aggressively approached Green on the bench and even took a half-swing at him that almost hit the 29-year-old in the face.

Both the player and the coach had to be held back by other AEK players, and Green eventually left the court during the game.
