After taking a long absence from the silver screen after Vishwaroopam, Kamal Haasan finally gave the fans something to rejoice about by revealing the title and first look of his upcoming movie. Touted to be a comedy, the film has been titled as Sabash Naidu, where the Ulaganayagan will be reprising the role of Balram Naidu from the Dashavataram. What's more, the comedy also stars ace comedian Brahmanandam and Kamal's daughter Shruti Haasan in important roles! Sunday, the first of May, witnessed the birthday of the most iconic actor in the Tamil film industry. People are simply crazy for Thala and this 45 th birthday of the Kollywood superstar was also celebrated in a very grand manner by all his fans just like every year. Tribute videos were made, his famous songs were blared all across Chennai and fan clubs held larger than life functions to celebrate the special day of the actor. This day was made even more special of course with the release of Rajinikanth's Kabali teaser.

The teaser was so phenomenal that is created a revolution on social media as fans, followers of Tamil cinema and maybe even the entire country witnessed the spectacle that is Rajinikanth. It created a record breaking 5 million views in a single day, the highest number views for a Tamil movie teaser in a single day.

Suriya's 24 release

Finally the Friday that we have all been waiting for dawned and with it came Suriya's 24. The movie, which has been highly talked about for months finally released on May 6 in Tamil and Telugu languages. The movie is being received really well critics and public alike and there are talks that this could well be the best film of Suriya's career. Talk about ending his 5 year bad luck with a bang!

Mahesh Babu’s Brahmotsavam audio launch

Finally, on Saturday, the much awaited audio of the Mahesh Babu starrer Brahmotsavam took place in Hyderabad. Fans thronged the occasion in hundreds of thousands as the handsome Prince of Tollywood along with his three co-stars Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Pranitha Subhash graced the occasion. If Sarrainodu’s audio launch was grand then this was at a whole new level.
