Ahmedabad: The discovery of a skull in the Narmada canal, near Dholka, has raised suspicion of it belonging to a 22-year-old student who was reported missing since February this year. Police officials have approached his family for a DNA match.
On February 10, Aviraj Rathod, a sixth semester student of BSc (microbiology) at Rai University, went to the canal along with one of his classmates to collect water samples for analysis.
Aviraj allegedly slipped and drowned in the canal. His father, Indravadan, had blamed the university and had also filed a habeas corpus plea with the Gujarat high court in March.
