Dismissing opinion polls that say that the PMK would fare poorly in the Assembly elections, the party’s chief ministerial candidate Anbumani Ramadoss on Saturday said the polls were not conducted in a scientific manner.

Interacting with journalists at his T. Nagar residence, Dr. Anbumani charged that there were motives behind releasing the results of the opinion polls when the elections were just days away.

‘Be unbiased’

“Opinions of some media houses supporting certain political parties were being thrust on the people in the name of opinion polls. The media should be unbiased,” the former Union Minister said. Dr. Anbumani claimed that people were not ready to trust the AIADMK and the DMK anymore.

“Their promise of implementing prohibition is not believable. Why did not the AIADMK implement it in the last five years? The DMK has not protested in the last 60 years seeking prohibition,” Dr. Anbumani said.

Claiming that there was a “wave” favouring the PMK, which was evident from the “large turnout of youth” at his meetings, the PMK candidate for Pennagaram said people were angry and frustrated with the two Dravidian majors. He criticised the election manifesto released by the AIADMK asking where the money for schemes would come from.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the way in which the EC officials were functioning, he alleged that some officials were favouring the ruling party.

Anbumani suspects motive behind releasing the results a few days before polls
