Daksha Yajna , a mythology film produced by Shivu and directed by Sidde Gowda, is expected to be released in the second week of May. The film has reportedly secured universal (U) certificate from the Censor Board.

The director and producer said that many theatre troupes of Mysuru district have staged the drama, Daksha Yajna, in different villages and received a tremendous response. Inspired by this response, they made a mythology film based on the story.

Theatre artistes Somu, Niranjan, Sathish Ponnachi, Dina Nanaiah, Niharika, Ravi and Kencha are part of the film, which has been shot in Mysuru and surrounding places. Since this is the first mythological movie in recent years, Mr. Gowda claimed that people would enjoy it. There has been an overwhelming response to earlier mythology films such as Babruvahana , and the director is confident of getting the same response for Daksha Yajna .

The makers of the film have sought co-operation of the Kannada film industry for their maiden venture.
