Mysuru: City police investigating the murder of Devendra, a rowdy sheeter, have formed four teams to crack the murder case reported on Thursday. Each of the teams is headed by DCP, ACP NR sub-division and CCB ACP and of a team of police inspectors. They will probe the case from different angles. The teams are quizzing suspects.
Sources claimed that the CCTV footage recovered from a temple and sound-and-light shops near the murder spot in Paduvarahalli have not been useful for police.
They did not get any clue. The vehicle number given by an eye witness is also untraceable.
Devendra, a resident of Pa duvarahalli, is suspected to have been hacked to death by the followers of Madesha. It is said Dev endra had testified against Madesha in the Hunsur double murder case, only to turn hostile later. Madesha, a resident of VV Mohalla, was holding sway over his locality, until he went to jail. Madesh a has moved the high court, seeking to quash the jail sentence against him. There was fear that Devendra may give witness against him (Madesha) again. Even legal experts were considering initiating action against Devendra. tnn
