17-year-old killed, two others injured in Nigdi accident

A 17-year-old youth was killed and his two friends suffered severe injuries after the motorcycle they were riding on skidded at Sainathnagar in Nigdi late on Wednesday night.

Pune: A 17-year-old youth was killed and his two friends suffered severe injuries after the motorcycle they were riding on skidded at Sainathnagar in Nigdi late on Wednesday night.
Police have identified the deceased as Hritik Babu Telangi, of PCMC Colony, Ota Scheme, in Nigdi.
The injured Karan Walmiki and Fiyaz Sayyad are being treated at a private hospital.

"Telangi, who was riding the motorcycle did not wear a helmet or possess a license as he was underage," Madhukar Thorat, assistant inspector of the Nigdi police station, said.
Thorat said that the accident took place around 9.30pm, when the youths, who were riding triple seat, were in the Sainathnagar area.
"Due to high speed, the motorcycle skidded. Telgani could not control the motorcycle and all three fell down and sustained severe injuries," Thorat said.
Thorat added that the locals rushed the injured trio to a nearby private hospital. Telangi was later shifted to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital, where he died.
