Mohammad Saifulla bowled well while Mohammad Salman Randhawa scored an unbeaten half century to help Advantage Motors defeat Chargers by six wickets and emerge champions in the UAQ T20 Premier League - Season 1.
Choosing to bat first, Chargers lost their trusted batsman Rohan Mustafa for just four runs. But Qasim Butt revived the innings with a superb 28-ball 35 including five boundaries while Hafiz Kaleem chipped in with a fine 10-ball 16 consisting of two fours. Farhan Babar consolidated the innings with a fine 40 coming off just 32 deliveries supported by two hits to the fence and one over it before Kashif Dawood (26, 18b, 2x4, 1x6) and Fawad Gafoor (17, 13b, 2x4, 1x6) ensured Chargers reached a challenging 159 for seven in 20 overs.
The scoreboard could have read even better but for a brilliant bowling from Mohammad Saifullah who earned the man of the match award for his witty bowling. His four overs saw him scalp four wickets while giving away only 25 runs. Waheed Ahmed picked was the other bowler to succeed with a two-wicket haul.
Chasing a relatively challenging target, Advantage Motors were pushed to the corner with a quick wicket but Parminder Pal Singh Sandhu (13, 14b, 3x4) and Umair Ali ensured the match was on. Ali hammered three sixes and a boundary during his 21-ball stay to score 32. Then on, it was Mohammad Salman Randhawa, who singlehandedly took his team to victory as he smashed a brilliant 61 not out off just 37 deliveries peppered with two boundaries and three sixes.
Ebrahim Mudassir (22, 24b, 1x4) and Waheed Ahmed (12 not out, 14b, 1x4) provided him the right support to ensure Advantage Motors reached 163 for four in 18.5 overs.
