LUCKNOW: Priests drawn from various Shaktipeeths across India will congregate in Lucknow on May 9 during the ‘Praan Pratishthaan’ of Goddess Kali in the newly-constructed Kali Bari at Gomti Nagar. The Kali Bari, which is spread over 6,000 feet, is coming up at Bharwara, near Sahara Hospital (Gate number 3). Priests and acharyas of various Shaktipeeths who are coming for the pooja include -- Swamy Vijyanand Maharaj, Swamy Tapanand Maharaj, (Narain Ashram Ayodhya), Maha Mandleshwar Swamy Gahna Nand Maharaj (Bhola Giri Ashram of Haridwar), Pandit MM Chakrabarty (Kali Ghat, Kolkata Saktipeeth), Alopi Maharaj (Paryag Shaktipeeth) and a senior priest from Lalta Devi Saktipeeth of Nimsar.
The Praan Pratishthaan ritual of Goddess Kali, Lord Ganesh and Lord Shiva will be done with religious fervour, informed Shekhar Chakroborty, president of the Gomtinagar, Kali Bari Samiti.
He further stated that 3 yagya kunds are being prepared for Havan. The puja will start in the morning and will continue the whole day, he said.
Kali Puja in Gomtinagar started in 1991, and the land for the Kali Bari was purchased in 2004. The construction work commenced in 2016. It will have one Kali temple, one Shiva temple and a temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The temple campus will have also 12 rooms.
As many as 5 rooms have Five Rooms have been constructed in the Kali Bari campus to provide free of cost accommodation to relatives of weaker section of society, whose family members are admitted in nearby hospital including Dr Ram Manohar Hospital. A free homeopathic medicine clinic will operate from the compound. Apart from this, a free education centre will be set up for the poor children.
