IP rights plays a key role for start-ups to sustain competition: Garg

Hyderabad, May 6 (UNI) Intellectual Property rights plays a key role for startups to sustain completion and go global, Dr Ajai Kumar Garg, Additional Director, Department of Electronics & IT (DeitY) said.
Dr Ajai Kumar who joined the seminar on IPR Management for Startups in Electronics & ICT Sector, organized by Andhra Pradesh Technology Development & Promotion Centre (APTDC) of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is association with Department of Electronics & IT (DeitY), Govt Of India here, via web said that there were some hurdles like unawareness and everyone can explore, if they have proper awareness of Intellectual Property. He also added that, this seminar was timely platform to think for possible strategies for protecting IP, to derive maximum benefit out of it and go global.
Hyderabad Software Exporters Association (HYSEA) President and Progress Software Development Private Limited vice-president Ramesh Loganathan said “There are lots of initiatives taken by the government to promote startup ecosystem in the country, and in the last one year we have seen lot of startups, especially in Hyderabad. There is need to have proactiveness in developing a lot of product based technologies which can be protected as patents. There are great technologies which are coming out of incubation centers. It is now important to encourage whole innovative ecosystem, so that we could more technology intensive startups”.
